Pieces of Home

We are starting a series on our blog that we are going to call Pieces of Home.  On this series we will share our home with you!  Welcome to the home of Mike and Mindy, please come in, get comfortable and stay while! 

This antique table and chairs was made by the Missouri Furniture Company in the early 1900's (we think).  It was gifted to us by a very generous friend and we are absolutely in love with it! It is serving as our dining room table and we sit here together every morning to eat breakfast.  

This is by far our favorite piece of furniture that we own.  Mike made this beautiful hutch for me to house my favorite Merry Mushroom, Pyrex and Corningware dishes.  This piece definitely deserves a separate blog post of its very own so be on the lookout for that in the near future.    

The Throne! I have been honored to own this piece for several years now and I fall in love with it more and more every day.  This beautiful antique velvet green chair was also gifted to me by a very generous family friend and Mike and I absolutely adore it...and so does out cat Ram! 

We found these three prices of wall decor at local antique stores throughout the years.  i love macrame and weaving's.  We don't know too much about this wooden clock but i just love German folk art inspired pieces.  

This couch has been with me for nearly a decade, it was one of my first adult purchases.  It is still being used today in our "Loft room".

My name is Mindy and together with my fiance, Mike, we are the owners of Our Crafted Life.  We both love to create and we started our Etsy shop to share our creations with a larger audience and we hope to do the same with this blog.

We are both 20 somethings living in St. Louis, MO, just trying to get by.  When we are not working our day jobs, or taking care of our cat and dog, we are creating art.

On Sundays, we antique!  Its our favorite thing to do.  We are also collectors and we LOVE our hobbies!  For mike its vintage star wars and legos and for me its anything mid century, mushroom and vintage Pyrex.  We are also both lovers of Vinyl and have got ourselves quite a collection.

We have created this blog to share out lives and our creations.  We hope you tune in for whats to come and follow along this journey with us.

Mindy

I am a lover of art and there are so many amazingly talented people out there that inspire me each and every day.  I am also inspired by the earth and everything that she brings us.  From the peacefulness of a forest on a cool autumn morning to the beauty of a sunset reflecting off a river on a hot summer night.  I love to create and it brings me so much joy and immense peace when I am crafting.  Thank you for letting me share my passion with you.

Mike is my fiance and also co-owner of Our Crafted Life. He is an amazing craftsmen who loves to work with wood and re-purpose antique pieces. Please be on the lookout for some handcrafted pieces coming from him very soon.
